FEDORA PARKMANN
Post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences and an associate researcher at the French Research Center in Humanities and Social Sciences in Prague (CEFRES). She received her PhD in art history from Sorbonne University in 2017. In 2011 she was a Louis Roederer fellow researcher at the National Library of France and in 2014 a fellow researcher at the Centre Pompidou. From 2016 to 2018, she lectured in modern and contemporary art and the history of photography and engraving at Sorbonne University and at the Université catholique de l’Ouest in Angers. Her research interests include artistic transfers in photography, photography exhibitions and interwar social and worker photography. She has published several articles on these topics, among others in Études photographiques and Transbordeur. Her present research deals with links between photography, communist activism and mass media. It focuses on the international exhibitions of social photography organized in the Czech Lands in the interwar period and their transnational context.
